New England Remediation Services is in the restoration business. We are all about taking something from a state of disrepair back to a “like new” condition. This could mean an attic space plagued with mold, a fire ravaged building, or rust on an antique automobile.
There are a variety of media blasting services that we offer. We will use different blasting media, depending on specific conditions of that project. Here are a few examples:
A fairly new type of surface blasting method that has proven itself lately is walnut shell media blasting. Walnut shell is used when a coarser blast media than soda is required. Walnut shell is able to get in all of the nooks and crannies and is well-suited for exterior projects because it is 100% environmentally friendly. NERS crews just finished blasting the exterior of a log home with walnut shells and it did a phenomenal job!
Walnut shells were introduced as a substitute for corn cob blast media. Similar in texture and function, but much less expensive once supply and demand for ethanol drove up the cost of any products made out of corn.
